"[I met the Lord in prison, and under the guidance of a chaplain.] I thought I had cleaned house and was looking pretty good. Then came Uprooting Anger.

"I now see that just because I don’t put my hands on people when I get angry, doesn’t mean my anger is not damaging my life and those around me. I now see that anger still had its claws, or should I say roots, in me. But today, I can say thank you, because of your course, I can now recognize what my triggers are, and I now stop and ask God, ‘Why? What’s up with this, God?’ This alone will change the outcome of my anger."

Why Use Uprooting Anger?

In prison, anger rules. Jon Cordeiro, a consultant to correctional ministries, said,"The only acceptable emotion in prison is anger." Too often, when someone is released from prison, his or her anger triggers behavior that earns more time behind bars.

Anger breeds more anger. In many families it is also true that anger is the only acceptable emotion. Children reared by angry parents tend to grow up angry—and the cycle continues. It needs to be broken.

Through the power of God it can be. As we apply the truths of His Word to our lives, we can break free from anger's bondage. Uprooting Anger: Destroying the Monster Within searches Scripture for God's solution. Uprooting Anger is available for use by Correctional Ministries

We want to see more people gain freedom from anger—both inmates and their families.
Consequently, we have made Uprooting Anger available for any correctional work (in jails, prisons, detention centers, after-care programs, or ministry to families of inmates).
A PDF file can be downloaded so you can make copies for participants of a study in a correctional setting. Many inmates treasure their copies of Uprooting Anger and keep them as reference books to look at later.
